Post subject:  MCM Usenet Indexer Issue

Anyone having serious issues with the MCM indexer? The past two weeks MCM has not been able to find many of my shows on the indexer. If I manually log into the MCM indexer and look for the shows, sure enough they are not listed (at least not in a form that matches my HD requirement). But I can find them and download the NZB from another indexer I use as a manual backup when MCM doesn't work. Latest examples:

Fear the Walking Dead: S01E04 & E05 are not available
http://news.mediacentermaster.com/series/48384

Downton Abbey: S06E02 not available
http://news.mediacentermaster.com/series/26615

Scandal: S05E01 is there but no matches for my HD 720 or 1080 requirement
http://news.mediacentermaster.com/series/28398

Again all of these can be found and successfully downloaded in HD from another indexer I use. Doesn't seem like this is an MCM issue, just with the indexer. They just aren't on the indexer listing when they are on others. Basically right now I have to check the MCM logs every day for series that can't be found and manually download them from my backup indexer.

I had this same problem back in August but it seemed to fix itself, but now it is back. Any ideas and help would be appreciated. Since it doesn't seem to be directly a MCM issue I didn't attached any debug info, but can if needed. Thanks!

I should also add I am now getting a security certificate error when I try to log into the MCM indexer (IE and Firefox both give this error). But I don't think this has anything to do with this issue.

I'm keeping an eye on it to see why they weren't indexed. Most likely they were either so poorly sourced to begin with that they were immediately discarded at the time of indexing (I'll raise the threshold) or they're being miscategorized (I've turned off some of the spam-deletion logic I wrote for now).

Only episodes airing after my post will matter at this point.

Pete,

Downton Abbey S06E03 aired last night since your tweaks and still can not be found on MCM indexer. It is on my backup indexer (Usenet Crawler) and I successfully downloaded it from there.

Homeland S05E01 aired last night and is on MCM indexer but both are bad NZBs and will not download. As of right now I can still DL good NZBs that work on my backup indexer. But Homeland is one of those that get taken down fast.

Fear the Walking Dead S01E06 also aired last night but can not be found on MCM indexer. Again it is on my backup and downloaded successfully from there.

Let me know if I can help in any way to figure this out. Thanks for your hard work Pete!

Things look to be getting better.

Shows are being found, it's more of a "content issue"? Meaning...what is found, states "Repair failed, not enough repair blocks"

Fear the Walking Dead S01E06 [MCM Usenet Download] - Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (225 short)
Downton Abbey S06E03 [MCM Usenet Download] - Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (145 short)
The Muppets S01E03 [MCM Usenet Download] - Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (15 short)
Castle S08E03 [MCM Usenet Download] - Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (188 short)
Blunt Talk S01E07 [MCM Usenet Download] - Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (62 short)

If this is better served in another forum, please let me know.

Completely agree, Pete you are awesome. Definitely appreciate all of the work that you do.

Feel free to keep posting -- unfortunately because of the nature of the system, a change I make may take hours or more than a day for me to see any real results, so it's a waiting game of seeing why this broke when it was working fine just a while ago. So don't be discouraged if you don't see many replies from me -- I'm still actively watching this and making adjustments.

Post subject:  Re: MCM Usenet Indexer Issue

that looks about like my situation.. it at least appears to be searching now, but not finding results.. before it just did nothing. even though i know the shows exist on torrents and usenet, i'm not getting any hits through the mcm index.
