    Please, also, attempt to limit your posting to one of the above issues at a time, to avoid confusion, for you and us.

Different folder names are used in this guide than what Pete used in his video.

These steps were tested on fresh installs of MCM and uTorrent, as the programs are installed, straight out of the box. No additional tweaking was performed.

Folder structure - keep it simple

    Local drive or folder
    |
    MCMaster
    ||
    |Watch Folder
    |
    Media Collection
    ||
    |Movies (empty folder for testing initial set-up)
    ||
    |TV Series (not used in this guide)
    |
    uTorrent
    ||
    |New Torrents

Overview of the process
Describing how MCM and uTorrent uses the above folder structure.

MCM will be provided a movie title, by the user, and instructed to download it.

MCM will search torrent sites, as selected by the user, for a good matching torrent with a good matching movie file.

A good torrent and movie file is found.

The torrent will be passed to the default torrent program, uTorrent.

uTorrent will use the torrent to gather the information required to download the movie folder and files into its download location, the "XXXXXX\uTorrent\New Torrents" folder.

When the movie folder and files are completely downloaded and assembled, uTorrent will pass them to MCM into its watch folder, the "XXXXXX\MCMaster\Watch Folder" folder.

MCM is, then, instructed to process the completed download in its watch folder.

MCM will parse, look at, the folder and file names to see if it is a movie or TV episode.

As a movie, it will be moved into the "XXXXXX\Media Collection\Movies" folder, into a new folder that will be named, per user settings, to identify the movie title, the movie file will also be renamed to match the folder name, metadata will be fetched, and any available artwork will be downloaded.

After the artwork is processed, MCM will clean up any leftover files in the downloaded movie folder, delete the empty movie folder from the "Watch Folder."

MCM is, now, ready for the next media title.

Information about interval timers (S&P->General tab)

  • Auto-scan timers are not really required with a premium license. For movies and old TV Series no longer airing: once they are processed through the "Watch" folder, they are for the most part complete with images, and metadata. For current airing TV Series: MCM will update metadata and artwork as it becomes available at the fetching site for the series title and all episodes each time it processes an episode through the "Watch" folder.

    The auto-scan features are preferably designed for use with the "Free" license version which can not download or process media through the "Watch" folder. These features provide "Free" license users the ability to scan their collection (mainly current airing TV content), look for manually added media, and keep the collection up to date with metadata.

  • Download new movies every - This requires additional settings and can be set to the user's preference.

  • Download new TV episodes every - This requires additional settings and can be set to the user's preference. It is important to note, this setting should be set in close conjunction with the download parser timer to be able to quickly add current airing TV Series episodes into a collection for immediate viewing.

  • Run download parser every - This is what will automate the tool function used above that move the movie into the Media Collection\Movie folder and fetch metadata and artwork. Set to user's preference.

  • Run new media list (HTML) every - Provides a user with a report of the current titles in a collection. It is available through the "Application (menu)->Logs and data... (7th item)->Open logs and data folder."

  • Cycle uTorrent - This will remove completed torrents in uTorrent depending on user settings for seeding.

  • Download torrent feeds every - Additional settings are required and can be set to user's preferences.

What do the red and yellow highlights indicate?

Red highlight

  • It is missing metadata

    • Use one of the several tools available to fetch metadata

      • Right click title (context menu)->Select tool (3rd and 4th items)

Yellow highlight

  • It is missing one or more artwork files.

    • Use the Artwork Manager to add locally stored images, or add images from the internet, or add/replace images from the fetching site.

      • Right click title (context menu)->Artwork manager (middle of list)

Now, go have some fun!
