  1. Overview

This column should be one of the first places to look when you notice Media Center Master is not keeping TV Series up to date.

The "Blue Ball" column is also known as the "Keep Updated" column.

The default location for the column is on the far left in the library viewing area.

The column displays different icons relating to the required settings to keep TV Series up to date.

The icons can be used to determine what settings are enabled or disabled.

Icons are only displayed for the TV Series titles that have been set to keep it up to date.

The "Keep show current with new episodes" logic populates a <WantDownloads> tag in the series.xml file with "True" or "False" which is used by Media Center Master to determine which TV shows to download new episodes for.

All current, airing or on break, TV Series that are added with the "Add a T.V. Series" wizard are automatically set (tagged) to keep the show current.

***Note - Exception, occasionally, incorrect data is obtained from thetvdb during the fetch for metadata.

The user must manual set (tag) any current, airing or on break, TV Series which is manually added to a "Scan" folder, in order to keep the TV Series up to date.

If a "Premium" version is running as a "Free" version," the icons in the "Keep Updated" column will remain, unchanged, but the download functions and settings will be disabled.

Also, see this guide: "Problem TV Series, Search Terms, Overrides, & Re-downloading" (here) for another possible causes of not keeping TV Series up to date.

  2. Displayed options

There are 5 icons of which may be displayed. The setting locations for the related icon functions are listed in the next section.

    1. No icons

    2. A red "X"

***Note - A red "X" will also display, if a user re-installs Media Center Master, adds one or more "Scan" folders with TV Series which were previously set (tagged) to "Keep show current with new episodes," before re-licensing the program and re-configuring the download settings.

The red "X" appears because of conflicting conditions:

      • When Media Center Master is started, opened, as a "Free" version, the download settings are disabled by default (greyed out, not available).

      • After the "Scan" folders are add, the series.xml (metadata) files are read.

      • The program finds a <WantDownloads> tag set to "True" in the metadata file.

The result is an error, displayed as a red "X," because the program can not use the download features.

    3. A green utorrent icon

Indicates the "Keep show current with new episodes" setting is enabled and the related download function settings for torrent downloads are enabled.

        • Automatic functions should work.

        • If not, review the information listed in:

Indicates the "Keep show current with new episodes" setting is enabled and the related download function settings for usenet downloads are enabled.

        • Automatic functions should work.

        • If not, review the information listed in:
