Hey Guys -

I frequently use the feature allowing one to search for and download better quality versions of selected titles which works fairly well (although the ability to add custom indexers like Torznab would be nice). However, there's something different I'm wanting to do. It seems that all pieces seem to be there and I may not know how to do it which is why I didn't post in Feature Requests.

I'm wanting to be able to have MCM search for and download x265 copies for all (selected) titles which are not x265. The goal of this is not as much a quality boost, but a reduction in library size.

Is this currently possible? Again, since x265 settings are already there; I'd think it would make sense that it would be included.

Thank You

Sounds like a good idea to me

Or maybe manually convert library files using a utility like "Handbrake" save downloading again

Its a great idea but I think the issue is how would MCM know if the file is an x265 unless its in the file name? The only other way I can think of (and it's a little silly) is for MCM to keep downloading the same movie from different sources until it finds an x265, but I'm sure you can see the issue with that.
There's another thing you can try. I use this for audio because I hate 2.0. Go into Settings -> Downloader -> "Movies" tab. Under "General movie include terms" add x265.
I did the same thing but under exclude, I added AAC2.0 YIFY 2.0 for it to not download crappy audio.

Option for HEVC Preference
Based on this Post MCM is supposed to download HVEC/265 by preference once selected
so if I am understanding it correctly and a HVEC/265 version exists
and we do a download a better version, delete file and re-download or download from scratch the HVEC/265 file version will be retrieved
maybe this goes towards sorting the issue
