Agreed, creating a firewall rule didn't resolve the problem. Still an issue.

Initially the problem went away but it's been back with vengeance for a week+

Thanks @Claynz.
Had same issue. Auto update stopped working in last 2 weeks, possibly due to Windows 10 updates.
The following steps worked for me:
Added firewall exception for 2 MCM applications:
C:\Users\****\AppData\Roaming\Peter Souza IV\Media Center Master\bin\MediaCenterMaster.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Media Center Master\MCMStubLauncher.exe
Restart computer, restart MCM. Didn't auto-update.
Turned off auto-update setting in MCM. Restart computer.
Open MCM. Turn Auto-update back on. Restart MCM.
Auto Update working now.

Toggling Auto update works for maybe 24hrs before the same issue is back.

About a week ago (not sure if patched went in) I notices that the update just stared working for me again. I'll try to investigate what else changed and post back.
