TVRage has mentioned a few times they'll be coming back, but it's ultimately gone nowhere so I think it's time to discuss alternatives. Does TVMaze work as a replacement for everyone? IMDb and TheTVDB support will remain and be unaffected, of course.

Will run this poll through the rest of 2015, but please feel free to post in the topic if you have suggestions or comments that can't be expressed through your vote.

"I guess, but I greatly prefer a different option", what are the different options you are thinking of?

Yeah, whoever voted that way needs to reply with their alternate preference (or it'll be ignored).

What about The Movie Database (TMDb). It's already there for movies.

IMHO, while TVMaze may be a suitable replacement for the episode scraping performed by MCM, TMDB does a better job overall of maintaining data and the upcoming episode information. I can't help but think that moving forward they may not be the best choice since they seem to lack the level of detail TVRage had and TMDB appears to come closer to matching. But, you wanted a vote not rationalization. Maybe either will be easier to pull the ID from than TVRage was?

Mordac85, your rationalization is exactly what is needed, it created discussion on what will be the best addition.

One advantage of TVMaze is can lookup existing TVRage ids. But TMDB has grown into a good option also.

OMDB is even a good choice.

I guess the devil is in the details and really up to Pete for how much grief either will take. I didn't know about the OMDB API but I thought that seemed promising for possibly adding to my automation it, unfortunately, seems to be lacking data in a number of fields. I'll stick with looking at TV Maze or TMDB for that but in the end I doubt we'll get as dedicated a crowd as those supporting and updating TV Rage. Too bad, but maybe the owner & admins can work it out and get back online?

I think it needs to be replaced. I'm not sure with what, but thetvdb.com goes down quite frequently as well, so it would be nice to have a reliable source.

tvrage is back up but it doesn't appear to be working with MCM anymore. I'm trying to download new episodes of American Dad and nothing happens.

Any word on the addition of TvMaze? Is it replacing TvRage or being added as another option to choose?
