For some reason, MCM can automatically dl some tv episodes, but when it tries to add them to the TV series, it cannot recognize it as a TV episode or movie. It seems to be certain naming conventions of the individual torrent. What do I edit to make sure the episode is recognized by MCM?

You can set up overrides in the Application menu.

You can also open the Troubleshooter from the Help menu. There's a test that can be used to diagnose why media files aren't being identified correctly (just paste the full path name and file name to the video file and click to start the test).

If you need more help, make sure you follow the rules for requesting support (Support Information).

I will almost guarantee the issue is with TVDB. There are several topics on this. I get this almost daily on random episode processing. And clicking on the debug links in the log when it happens provides usually a "503 error" at TVDB and there website usually provides the same.

Still no real answer at TVDB.

Like now I have not had access to tvdb for the last 30+ minutes.

Wish we could get TMDB as a alternative or addition.

IMDB tv fetcher does work but not really preferred.

thetvdb is up and running but none of my shows are getting identified...

Code:
MCM:  Now working on Jane.the.Virgin.S04E08.mkv...
thetvdb.com  Searching by season 4, episode 8
MCM:  ... this is a T.V. show episode (detected using quick method)
MCM:  I'm not sure if this file is a T.V. episode or a movie -- I can't detect it as either:  Jane.the.Virgin.S04E08.mkv
MCM:  The file is not named in a way I understand.  If this is a T.V. episode and you have a scan folder set up for it, then you may want to add a T.V. detection override settings to manually map a series description to its ID.

MCM:  Detecting and processing: "D:\uTorrent\Completed Downloads\Marvels.Agents.of.S.H.I.E.L.D.S05E09.720p.HDTV.x264-AVS[rarbg]"
thetvdb.com  Searching by season 5, episode 9
MCM:  ... this is a stub folder for a T.V. show (detected from parent folder using quick method)

Also show a debug log. Just because TVDB website is up does not mean the API is up.

If I see this issue I take the url from the debug url and see the api url fail.

I also see the exact same errors until TVDB API comes back online.

I'm having some issue... I just noticed today... I added 5 episodes today and this is the only one that will not fetch. I've added an override... just to see.. and that didn't help. This log shows as if the fetch to the site worked... but the app still didn't see what it was.

Added after post:

However I will add... If I try to visit that link directly.. i get this... so doug is likely right about the API connection being down or intermittent

Yeah, sounds like thetvdb.com is having issues. Again. Forever. :D

Keep in mind that Media Center Master caches HTTP requests internally for some time, so cases of "these 4 shows work but this 5th one doesn't" is typically not actually evidence of anything.
