Hi all,

Any way to change the date added to library in MCM?

For some reason when I've imported an existing library (on the free premium demo version of MCM) it's got the added date as ranging from 1/5/18 to 1/8/18 (oddly only the 1st of each month). This MCM install literally points at the folders and scanned them in. All metadata was there.

On my original library with the lifetime MCM it's all fine, but building a new host for the library has thrown up this odd behaviour. The file stamps are all correct on the original folders, but MCM isn't having it.

Not the biggest issue in the world, but hoping it's an easy fix :)

thanks in advance!

I think I've found the issue, but not sure how to fix it :(

The folders were moved on the
7/1/18
8/1/18
and so on

However MCM seems to have parsed these the other way round and made a created date (or added to library date) of

1/7/18
1/8/18
etc

I've deleted MCM and reinstalled, but still got the same issue, don't really want to manually alter the dates of all the folders so hoping there's a quick way to fix this Pete? :)

"Date Added" is a series of calculations searching for the earliest date among several, including the modified and creation date of the actual files involved.

I don't see any problem with how it does this (and it's done it this way for nearly a decade) and your examples don't provide enough data for me to share your perspective. I'm missing from your post what exact date you're expecting to be read/calculated and why you're expecting that.

Unfortunately, simply throwing random dates at me from your library doesn't give me the opportunity to help much, which is why your first post didn't get any attention yet.

Sorry Pete!

I moved my library from one server to another, and simply bulk copied the data (TV/Movies)
So I expected to see "added to library" date in MCM from when I moved and imported it, but MCM has taken the dates in the wrong day/month format:

The movie 8 Mile moved on 5/1/18 for example, but MCM has an added date of 1/5/18 as per screen shot.

Predator was moved on 6/1/18, and MCM has an added date of 1/6/18.

Anything added into MCM after I copied the data has the correct date on it, but I can't sort by date as the copied data is right at the top of the list (up to 1/8/18)

Hope that makes a bit more sense?

It sounds like the column is being formatted incorrectly. I believe I'm having the same conversation over in this topic here.
