Post subject:  help post process ing mkv/avi to mp4

greetings all,

anyone mind ELI5 how to setup a post process in MCM that can grab the file before moving it, convert it from other file type (MKV/AVI) to MP4, delete the old file (so it isnt added to library) and then do its magic with just the MP4?

MCM is on my desktop, the EMBY server and files are on a NAS drive, but files aren't moved from desktop till MCM grabs them from the fetch folder

i found a post that put
for f in *.mkv; do ffmpeg -i "$f" -c copy "${f%.mkv}.mp4"; done

in a batch file and when i did it manually i managed to convert one file.

what i need is someone to talk slow to me on how to implement this into MCM post processing for any files i add now. :P

thank you and appreciate your patience

What you're describing is pre-processing -- don't do it in post-processing (a step that occurs after all fetching is complete in Media Center Master).

My software VideoLogic is designed for exactly these kinds of situations. Pipe video into the queue folder and move files out of the completed folder (or configure completed to go elsewhere) before it hits Media Center Master.
