Hi All,

I am running the latest version of MCM (2.18 build 32818.738) and i believe this issue has started after the update - most of the trailer files downloaded does not get renamed correctly. I use Plex as the front end.

The trailer mp4 files are downloaded to the right folder location under the corresponding movies but it does not get renamed with the movie name and then '-trailer' suffix as Plex needs it and hence show up under Plex as a different 1 or 2 min movie.

Also the files are most of the time unplayable as well and ffprobe service keeps them open and deleting or renaming them manually does not work either.

I am not sure what is going on - recent log file attached - the movie that was fetched did have the above issue with the trailer downloaded.

You appear to have permission issue.

Here are the permissions for that folder and file - the nfo file seems to be the only one that has the problem. The other files are also created by MCM (xml, jpg etc).

Is there any settings in MCM that I can change to make sure the nfo file is created with the same user owner and permissions?

Here is another example - the trailer file is downloaded but named generically as trailer and hence Plex recognizes it as a different movie.

Not sure why that is happening.

The file remains open in ffprobe so when I try to manually rename it - that doesn't work either unless I go to task manager and close the ffprobe services.

Here is what I do sometimes as I do not have this issue, but I do when getting subtitles. Same can be done.

Get your movie and let MCM do it's thing. Then use a downloader like for Youtube, find the trailer and download it to your desktop. Now open the folder where your movie is in. Right mouse click and select "Rename" which will highlight the file name. Now use Ctrl + C to copy the naming string.

Now go to the video file on your desktop and right mouse click on it and select "Rename" and then use Ctrl + V to paste the name. Now add the space and then -trailer. Now click anywhere and the name will be saved. Now cut the file and paste it in to the same folder where the movie is at. When you launch MCM the program will scan the library and it will detect the trailer.

That is not a normal way, but it works for me.

Is Plex processing the media while MCM is still downloading the trailer?

Can you post your Support Information.

Try this. In MCM settings under the tab called "Trailers" try the option under "Trailer should be saved:" and bubble in

with the movie as moviefile-trailer.ext (Kodi/XBMC style)

Not sure if this is set in your system.
