MCM by default seems to download metadata using aired order, but at least in the case of some TV shows, thetvdb.com has listings for both aired order and DVD order. Is it possible yet to tell MCM to use DVD order or will I have to rename my files? I'm hoping the former of course. It seems like it would be pretty straightforward to implement - a simple parameter defines which order thetvdb.com uses, although it does present the data in a slightly different format.

Here's an example: http://www.thetvdb.com/index.php?tab=se ... &order=dvd

This has been discussed to death already (official request here, if you'd like to star it to vote for priority and be notified of changes). It's a lot more complicated than you think since there is no standardized naming for DVD episode order versus actual aired season/episode identifiers.

I'm fairly sure there's no fix to this but wanted to check before I go to manually editing every XML file.

I have a TV show...which is 2 episodes per file but the 2 episodes are in DVD order not aired order.

This results in episodes that are not consecutive when listed in aired order.

So for example, the first file shows episode 1 and 2 from DVD order but this is actually episode 1 and 7 from the aired order.

It doesn't seem as though there's a way to get MCM to fetch nonconsecutive episodes in a single file. I've tried using a comma in the name but it still fetches all episode data between 1 and 7.

Any suggestions for a way to get the data right? I know one option is to break out all the episodes into individual files. I was even thinking of a way to recreate the source material from thetvdb.com on my local computer and trick MCM into looking there for the data. I'd need to know a good bit more info about how the data is stored and retrieved though to be able to do that. Any other thoughts?

No way that I know, or any metadata provider that would be able to provide the information in the format thay are in.
