Have PVR that records OTA in HD. After I edit files, I would like MCM to move files to their respective folders even if there is already that episode in that folder. Don't want the old file deleted. Want to keep both (I always will preview beginning and end of the episode to check for cut off, then manually delete the worse episode file) I am finding that recordings I make today OTA are better than recordings made before but the recordings often are cut off at the end. If anyone had a way to do this I would appreciate the feedback.

I don't think there's a way to do this in MCM presently (if the files would have the same filename in your library anyways). You may need to suggest some kind of extended logic as a new feature.

Years later I respond. I hope all is well with you in these crazy times. This was mainly for 2 reasons. DVR recordings having bad start and end times more so in the last 2-3 years. I have so many episodes that either have the beginnings or the ends cut off by up to 5 minutes and also shows being interrupted for public announcements or breaking reports. When I find episodes like that, I will often schedule a rerecord of the episode on my PVR. But this often means I have to do find the old episode, delete it then run MCM to re-up the corrected episode. I would just rather MCM upload a second copy of the same episode after it transfers from the PVR and I can delete one or both after viewing. Kind of like the way it handles movies. It just creates moviename (year)_ if duplicated. The other thing is that for a lot of my favorite shows that I tend to rewatch, I rerecord them at higher bitrates than the original copies on my PVR and would love to be able to just copy the files over even if they already exist then I can manually delete the unwanted one from the Media Player directly (less interaction with my headless PVR/MCM server) e.g. my original DVR recording of Battle Star Galactica was in 480p but more recently I was able to record it at 1080P. MCM would not copy the new recordings over even with the better version check box selected. (Let's call this what it is, I am lazy and I want instant gratification :) ) I wondered if there was a simple config file tweak I could do rather than something major. Thanks for looking into this back when.
