Code:
[17:35:01.984] DEBUG: Season: 21
[17:35:01.984] DEBUG: Episode: 34
[17:35:01.984] DEBUG: Episode name:

When TVDB does not return a Episode name it is a full stop in MCM. So until tvdb is able to provide this information the episode can not be processed.

The question is, why is that ocurring? If I close the app and reopen it, it immediately works. And it continues to work for about 24 hours, then the same thing happens again. If I don't close it, it will never find any episodes - permanently - until I close and reopen the software.

This has been happening to me for weeks, as well.
What I have found to be the problem is the extra info in the downloaded file...e.g. year or region.
Ballers S04E04... found and works perfectly
Ballers (2015) S04E04... repeatedly asks and fails to process

I'm not sure why it can find the show when searching but not process it.
I do have a few show titles that have the year in them that do not run into this problem but all have year available in the metadata so MCM should just accept it as part of the file name, if present, without me having to create an override for each title.

Technically Ballers and Ballers (2015) could be two different series. So if you are getting episode in both naming schemes you have to set up TV Series Detection Override so it knows that naming scheme is actally the same series.

It literally happens to every show without a year.

Fear the Walking Dead
Is there another FTWD that I don't know about?
Like I said, I shouldn't have to set up an Override rule for every show that I watch.
There are currently 13 of 140 with years in the names to differentiate it from other like-named shows. Plus, I already have a dozen rules that I have made over the years to fix some occasional problems.

This identification error has only recently appeared so I would think that there has been a change in MCM somewhere.
All I need to do is find out where or what steps to take to correct it, like rescanning the titles, etc., not setting up 140 overrides.

Only a debug log would tell for sure, but if no episode name is returned then it is not a MCM issue.

I still have yet to have a issue that wasn't a tvdb issue.

In the end we need alternate tv provider.

Yes I can't figure it out. I can access TVDB, all other software can access TVDB. Media Center Master can't. If I close the app and immediately reopen it, suddenly TVDB works. This doesn't seem like a TVDB issue considering everything else can access it even when MCM can't.

What happens if you change to TVDB V2 fetcher? Other users have posted it resolves their having to restart issue.

Oh thank god, I thought I was going mad! This is exactly how mine has been behaving for a month or so now. Try searching to find a new tv series, no results. Tries to identify new downloads and fails.

All works fine apon restart, so I have been pretty much just restarting it daily. Will post the log when I'm on the right machine.

At this time switching to the V2 fetcher appears to have resolved the issue. Thanks for the help Doug!
