You have to be on the main homepage where there's a newer drop-down style menu at the the top. Find the Plex downloads in the Download menu.

Thanks Pete

Got it working no issues, any chance that this can include the sort title also? Or does it and I need to change a setting?

I have edited all my multi title sets.

Thanks

Ryan

I'm not familiar enough with Plex to know if there's a setting you can turn on in Plex. All of the metadata in the python script that we can import is being imported, though.

I took the plunge to plex and tried the MCM agent and scanner. I set them up as discussed in this thread but the Movie results seemed to lack all metadata and the TV library had no results at all. This was with the linux version on a QNAP.

I'm not actually sure what they do though, plex seems to be picking up either the .nfo or .xml info fine with the default agents and scanners.

I know it's not Plex Media Master but the one thing that would be great is being able to control the names of the artwork to match plex's naming conventions. Other than that, MCM is still just as relevant for Plex as it is WMC.

Is MCMPlex still relevant? IE: Should I install it?

I would let Plex do its own thing. I have had MCM and Plex for number of years now and when I initially tried this plugin, if I tried to update the meta data Plex would not find anything. I seem to remember looking through the logs and there was a custom internal ID associated which plex was trying to match to the IMDB to no avail.

I use MCMPlex on an UnRaid server, in the plex docker. It runs flawlessly for me. Although, I would like to see some added features that the plex scanner currently has. (mainly linking TV Shows with Movies) I feel MCMPlex displays the metadata the user spent their time customizing rather than a whole new set of generic metadata. The Plex scanner is good but I constantly find movie posters that are sub-par or maybe just a promotional poster rather than the theatrical posters. so I like using the MCM metadata that I can customize.

I appreciate the insight. Would Pete weigh in on if MCMplex should be used over Plex's internal utility?

If I wanted to try MCMplex, what steps are necessary to active it and deactivate Plex's internals?
