utorrent for linux is pretty much dead, leaving qbittorrent the closest alternative. Nice too because it has no ads and might be a good alternative on Windows too.
The API is different, but conceptually the same. This is a request to support qbittorrent integration directly. Moving torrent files is already possible with watch folders, but by supporting the API we can leverage magnet links, which most content is represented by these days.

In the meantime I've built a facade for the qbittorrent web API in python that with fake MCM out into thinking it's working directly with uTorrent. It's functional, and I'll go over to the Support thread and do a write up with the code in case anyone else finds value in it. I'll come back and post a link to it when done.
EDIT: Here's the link to the script and instructions in the support forum. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=12096

For anyone who is interested, I've posted updates to the github repository for the script enabling QBitTorrent usage with MCM.
The readme has instructions for how to use it, and I've included a shell script I use for monitoring VPN status along with other services to keep everything working smoothly.
If anyone else has tried using this, I'd be curious about your experiences or questions.

I need this as uTorrent is dying and many of its abilities are not working as required.
