Hey Pete,

I have a small request regarding file naming for TV shows. Right now I use this naming scheme:

Doctor Who - S01E01 - An Unearthly Child [1963-11-23]

What I'd like to be able to do is have this option:

Doctor Who (1963) - S01E01 - An Unearthly Child [1963-11-23]

The main reason for this request is consistency. Some shows have a year in the title and some and some don't. I believe all movies and TV shows should have the year included to help prevent version confusion.

Thanks,

Todd

Currently the token (Y) in episodes returns the episode number.

Example

There is a workaround. But it is manual work renaming series via metadata tab.

Add the year to Show Name hit save. then click file tab and auto-rename all.

If Metadata Show Name respected the T T (Y) series name then you wouldn't need an additional token.

That's not much of a workaround if you have a lot of shows. Any chance the (Y) token could be fixed to deliver the expected result (YEAR)?

Feel free to add it to the Issue Tracker with a link to this topic and post the tracker number in this topic.

I believe this would be a feature request because it was probably never intended for episodes. But that is my opinion, it could be a considered a bug.

I cannot speak to whether this worked in the build number above but I just downloaded and installed v2.17 build 26917.859, and when I enter (Y) to the episode naming scheme I still get the episode number.

ex: Gotham (2) - S04.E02 - A Dark Knight, The Fear Reaper.mkv

What are you trying to do? What token are you using? As (AIRED) provides what OP wanted.

From your example do you want this?
