Can you allow the option to rename the backdrops, posters, discart, clearlogo's, banners, etc. with Kodi's newest file naming convention that includes the root file name followed by the artwork file tag found at this link (https://kodi.wiki/view/Movie_artwork)? <movie file name>-<arttype>.<ext>. I would like a similar option for the TV shows as well...

For example , I'd like to name the files:

Escape Room (2019) (PG-13) [DVD] [AC3, 5.1].mkv
Escape Room (2019) (PG-13) [DVD] [AC3, 5.1].nfo
Escape Room (2019) (PG-13) [DVD] [AC3, 5.1]-poster.jpg
Escape Room (2019) (PG-13) [DVD] [AC3, 5.1]-discart.png
Escape Room (2019) (PG-13) [DVD] [AC3, 5.1]-fanart1.jpg
Escape Room (2019) (PG-13) [DVD] [AC3, 5.1]-fanart2.jpg
etc.

While I know Kodi, addons, and some skins currently still support artwork with the older convention, and MCM allows custom names of the various artwork, it would be very handy to follow their latest convention and automatically rename them to minimize issues going forward and maximize compatability.

I've been googling around trying to figure out why Kodi wasn't seeing my MCM downloaded artwork and landed here. I would vote for this feature also.

I don't use Kodi but there documentation says the still allow shortname artwork.

Quote:
Kodi will load artwork files using the short format <artworktype>.jpg/png filenames, but will fallback to the longer <NameOfVideoFile>-<artworktype>.jpg/png format as required.

See section 2 Local Artwork, then the link in number 2 to "Set Content Screen"

Unless this is Skin related, but would assume they are required to follow Kodi's documented logic.

Not in my experience with multiple Kodi installations. I had poster.jpg, folder.jpg and <moviename>.jpg in the folder. Kodi was still downloading ugly artwork from some random source. I found a utility to rename all poster.jpg files to <moviename>-poster.jpg, problem solved. I'm trying out Ember Media Manager which, so far handles Kodi artwork correctly.
