just discovered your tool and started doing some changes in my collection to make it compatible. Great tool - I love it small suggestion - I love the autoupdate feature (haven't had a benefit from it yet, as a new user, but very cool ...!) - Right now I start MCM several times (fixing my collection and restarting teh app), isn't it sufficient to just check once per day (or per week) for a new version ? either way, not a big deal, mainly wanted to say GREAT TOOL ... Thanks for the kudos,
Media Center Master is still in it's growing stages -- while it hasn't happened recently, there have been periods where I've put out several new releases in a week, often multiple times in a day (see the release notes). I may make the auto-update check rate less frequent in the future when the project has matured, but for now it's really not hurting much. In general, I typically leave MCM running day and night, so it hasn't bothered me much.
MCM will also check for updates every few hours while it's running (not just at startup) and will show a message in the upper-right corner of the main window if one is found. It does this with a background thread, though, so there's no delay or slow-down of whatever MCM's in the middle of.

Interesting - so the recommendation is to keep it running all the time ...
I assume it just keeps scanning for changes in the scan folders during that time? Since I have my media on a homeserver, will this not prevent my homeserver from going to sleep?

If you check the menu called "Use auto-scan", it will monitor for new folders/changes. wolfma wrote: Since I have my media on a homeserver, will this not prevent my homeserver from going to sleep? Auto-scan may prevent a remote server from sleeping since it is accessing files over a network share. Disable auto-scan if you don't want to prevent the server from sleeping. (Though honestly -- why would you ever want a server to go into suspend/sleep?)
