Media Center Master v.1.24 Build 20810.913 does not read the media library folder structure properly. I saw this was a previous issue that was believed to be resolved but it apparently hasn't. MCM is reading "Season" folders as television shows and completely ignores its parent folder which is the actual "TV Show Name" folder. It appears to only affect newly added content as previously added content can still be re-fetched. Sample output: Code: MCM: now working on 24 Season 3 thetvdb.com now working on 24 Season 3 thetvdb.com Unable to determine what show this is, skipped until later... MCM: Created XBMC/Boxee meta data files ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MCM: now working on House thetvdb.com Updated base meta data for this show thetvdb.com Fetching season 3 banner... thetvdb.com none available thetvdb.com Done with this show! MCM: Created XBMC/Boxee meta data files In the above output, 24 is the newly added TV show and House was the previously added content. The two folder structures are nearly identical: 24's - 24\24 Season 3\ (I've also tried changing it to just "Season 3") House's - House\House MD Season 3\ Obviously, my scan folders are configured properly: I have added a bug report to the Google Code website. I hope this is resolved soon.

Pete wrote: Your season names are incorrect. They must be in the format "season X" -- MCM has always required it to be this way because that's how MediaBrowser requires it. I stated in my post that I even renamed 24's season 3 folder to "Season 3" and it did not help. Instead of it trying to look for "24 Season 3" it was looking for "Season 3."Nevertheless, MCM just auto-updated to 21010.539 and is now reading it properly when the folder is set to "Season 3." Could you tell me something though: why does MCM recognize every other television show that was previously added which has something before "Season" such as "NCIS Season X," "House MD Season X," "STVOY Season X," etc. but it couldn't figure out "24 Season X" after the auto-update that fixed the problem. Is it the fact that the show is simply two numbers or is there still something wrong with how MCM scans through the media library.

There's nothing wrong with the way MCM scans through your library. If you're looking for help using MCM, you're going about it the wrong way by kicking and screaming.
MCM knows that if a series.xml file exists with the TV series (read: existing TV series folders), that it can't possibly be a nested folder/boxset and treats it as a TV series.
It also knows that if a subfolder contains other subfolders and any of them begin with the word 'season', that it also can't be a nested folder/boxset and treats it as a TV series (albeit without metadata).

I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes: it's just when the most important part was overlooked (i.e. using the "required" naming convention it still scanned it improperly), I had to emphasize it with bold font. I saw someone else with the same issue to which you replied that it was fixed in the latest build which was what I was using. Either way, the issue has been resolved in the 21010.539 build. Also, I know why MCM scans the other series properly (even after clearing all metadata and related files). Apparently, Media Center Master can read through a television series properly as long as the season folder only has one set of numbers (the season number). This is why "24 Season 3" doesn't work in the newest build but "NCIS Season 4" and "House MD Season 5" do. This is the pattern I found. Any show with a number follows the proper naming convention while any show without a number has either the show's abbreviation or the show's name prior to the word "Season." Thanks for your help, and again, I don't know what you did in the most recent build, but it did fix the issue .

To add to this topic.
Using build 20810.913
Sometime during the last couple few updates:
Series is no longer being recognised as a valid sub folder for a TV show, and is being listed as a show.
e.g.
Doctor Who folder is scanned and appears to have no videos. Further down the list, under "s", are listed series 1, series 2, etc down to series 11.
Tried videos on a different drive.
Series 4 of the IT Crowd has just finished. Scanned this with the same results. IT Crowd folder appears empty. Under "s" is Series 4
Additionally.
When refreshing, or reloading MCM. The Show name, "The IT Crowd", is no longer appearing in the list. But the Series 4 sub folder is still listed as a show.
Downloaded and installed MCM_1.24c build(1.24.20410.705) and this has the same problem
Reinstalled original download 1.23 (build 18810.552) and there is no problems with this version, series sub folder is valid. Meta data downloaded with no problems.

Sorry, update announcement wasn't showing in the corner.
Updated to build 21110.676. It has fixed the problem for newly created folders.
As it's a related problem.
Previously scanned folders, where no meta data was available at all, are now being listed as series 1, etc. e.g.
w:\Comic Asides\Series 1
Does not show under "c", but under "s"
Empty nested folders are being listed. Set up the folder for Billy Connolly's Tour of Scotland. This is not listed, but the series 1 empty folder is listed.
