MikeJ requested this too, and I'm more than inclined to add features that let you do this. Stay tuned!

Glad to know this is in the works. However, as you think of how to implement this feature, keep in mind that there may be those (me, for instance) that would rather have MCM *not* download the 720p version of an episode. I have nearly 2TB of TV and for most shows, there's just no reason to eat up that extra storage with a 720p episode. Yes, there are those that I like having the higher res (and most of those I record myself in HD and convert), but for most, the avi's are just fine.

As it is right now, MCM will occasionally find a 720p episode and download it, and then I have to go back in and delete it and manually find the XviD .avi version and download it.

Just wanted to be sure that this perspective was included!

Thanks for an AMAZING piece of software!

This is an old thread and support was added for this a while back. Go into the download settings and turn on "only SD torrents" to restrict to standard def.

Can you clarify how these settings work?

Eg: standard-def only... what in the name of the torrent indicates it's High def? I'm hoping that 720p or 1080i or 1080p has to be matched in the string or something...

I have tv torrents setup to download, and the names are something like:
Tv.Show.Name.HDTV.720p.GROUP.torrent
Tv.Show.Name.HDTV.Xvid.GROUP.torrent

In that case they both say HDTV in the string, and i guess they both technically are. My issue is, my xbox (v1) running xbmc cannot play back x264/mkv stuff which is what the 720p torrent is, but it plays back the xvid's fine. So I prefer to download the Xvid's since I can watch those all over my house :)

Appreciate some clarification!

Since not all torrent sources allow advanced searching by file size (btjunkie.org does), there's just a simple string test to check if a source is HD or not.

If the torrent title contains the word "720p" or "1080p", it's considered by MCM to be HD and will be skipped if 'only SD' is checked. If it doesn't contain those words and 'only HD' is checked, then it will be skipped too. Otherwise, it will be considered a valid source as far as quality is concerned.

Media Center Master now allows selection of SD/HD/Anything on a per-T.V. show basis beginning with version 1.27 build 31610.912. Look for the option in the Media Organizer tool.
