I'm getting class not registered when I click on new media report and the forum discussion online help. Both of the functions do not appear to complete. I do not get a web browser page opened for either actions.

Here is a copy paste of the message. I assume they are both having the same problem as it would seem like it would be something calling the external browser. I am using chrome as my default and running Windows 8 x64.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Sounds like the metro version of Chrome breaks this on Windows 8:

Are you using this software?

Hmm, I don't have the metro version of chrome installed, but the chrome desktop version is set as my default browser.

And you're using Windows 8? You forgot to attach your Help -> Support Information (required), so I can't tell...

I'd try setting Internet Explorer back as your primary browser and see if that fixes it. If it does, try setting Safari, FireFox, Opera, or any other browser as your default and see what happens.

I suspect the problem is with Chrome for Windows 8 not handling the http:// or file:// protocol handlers correctly (like .htm or .html isn't being registered), given the nature of the error message and the scope it occurs in.

It's definitely a chrome problem. Works fine with IE as the default. Not a huge issue for me since it still generates the new media report and I can access it by bookmark with chrome. I don't have any other browsers installed to test.

I suspect they'll fix this in a future update. :)
