I don't mind making multiple passes to get the other foreign subs.

Do I just change the setting in language and then go to download missing subtitles for all movies each time I want to d/l a new language?

Currently, all my subs are in english and the file name matches the movie. will it override the existing sub and if not, how will it be named?

Thanks

It'll skip it actually... hmm, you'll probably need to do some kind of post-processing step to rename them or something. I can't think of an easy way to do this with MCM as it is now.

It won't work because it knows there's already an .srt or because the .srt is the same name as the title?

If its the latter, I can do a find and replace my current .srt to _Eng.srt and then change the MCM language to Spanish and run it. Will that work?

It's the former: because the exact filename matches, so a local subtitle would cause abort.

If you rename it like that, it should grab another (in whatever language it happens to be set to currently), but that's a lot of manual effort. :/

Today..almost 3 years later....do you have a way to achieve this?
You have renaming system for TV-shows and movies... yet you can't have your application (if it's set for english) add .eng to a file?
When it checks for a subfile it should do <if ".en.srt" or ".eng.srt" then skip>. (if MCM is set to download english for instance)
I don't know the exact parameters in MCM so can't say exactly how it should look...but it really should be possible.

1. Priority order with a backup. (for me...preferrably swedish..but when not possible, english)
Others might want to be able to have both if like one user is english and his wife prefers arabic. (Or mne...I would like to have both eng and swe when possible...depends on the situation)
2. rename and add the ISO 639 codes after download.
3. check for that specific language when downloading..not just for any sub for that movie/episode.

Just so you know: you're coming across awfully hostile.

The reason this feature hasn't been given any attention yet isn't based on the difficulty to add it, but popularity/demand. Everything takes time and all feature requests are prioritized based on demand. You're welcome to find the feature request in the Issue Tracker and 'star' it, which bumps the priority.

Alright, sorry. I was a bit frustrated that I read this in 3 different thread and your reply 3 years ago was that you didn't know a good way to do it.
(And also that I spent half a day troubleshooting plex (subtitles) and it turned out to be a problem with the MCM plugin)

And now I have tried getting "Sublight 4" to work automatically, but no luck there either.

But yeah...I shouldn't take it out on you.
