Just trying to get an idea of what people are using for their VPN and how they would rate. I am looking at getting one and want to know everyone's thoughts.

My vote is for OpenVPN.net

I was looking at SwitchVPN and doesn't look that bad. The OpenVPN looks like it doesn't give you much transfer size. 500GB a year for 50 bucks? Remember I just lost 4TB of Movies and TV shows. Unless I am reading the site wrong. Or do you mean just using the OpenVPN protocol.

You can set up OpenVPN yourself, I believe.. I did it a few years back and it was all free.

Why do you need to transfer large amounts of data through your VPN? Are you looking for a way to tunnel to your LAN to share your library mobile or something?

Yes I know what a VPN is. The point is if you have a vpn it is like you move your machine to another public IP address and all the stuff you do on-line is based on that IP address.

no-ip.org can be used for access to a workstation that has a changing dynamic IP address

I use SwissVPN for political reasons. The Swiss will not turn over your IP address to people trying to figure out who you are. I have used them for several years now, and never had a problem with Time Warner or ATT Uverse. As many of you may know, Google Fiber is now in the quick settlement business for Hollywood. They offer to clear the claim if you settle early without a fight. I pay 5 bucks a month for SwissVPN, a great deal. I don't think the firewall option is necessary, as you have security by provider belligerence. You're only as secure as the the court system protecting your identity.

After going back and fourth with Hide my ass! (our current VPN provider) for a while after some issues arose with MCM not functioning correctly, I have decided to swap them out for a new one.

They claim that the do not alter traffic and blame MCM for the problem. It's strange that MCM works fine when I disable the VPN. I'm tired of their arrogant attitude and want to cut them out.

Anyone on this forum that can recommend a VPN provider, preferably a user from Europe?
Main thing is ease of use and works well with MCM. Speed comes as a secondary criteria..

I'll give SwissVPN a look, but would like some more options as well..

Best comes down to your needs and wants plus your setup so hard to comment. Either way I wouldn't trust a free vpn with this and imo wouldn't use one for it.

I have/had many subs for testing and currently I find purevpn working well for me and my needs.
