Hi ppls,
I have a slight problem. I like to rename files so it is like
ie: c:\Cake Boss\Season 1

But my dir have come up like
i.e: c:\Cake Boss\Cake Boss\Season 1

I like to know how can I go about changing/moving the files so it goes back to the first option.

I dont want to do this manually because it will take me a long long time.

Thanks

Bulk File Rename Utility is how you rename large amounts of files.

I have one question though. Why are you saving things to the root of your C drive? I have 4 hard drives in my HTPC. 1 for OS (Nothing but OS is on this drive), 2. Media (For all unsorted media and this is where I store music and photos), 3. Movies, 4. TV.

In each of my drives Movies and TV I have 1 folder Named Movies, and TV. All movies have their own folder. TV shows have their own folder then inside each season has a folder.

From a purely IT professional view point saving things to the root of your c drive is just asking for problems. If you only have 1 hard drive in your system then I would save to the Video Library (Win Vista, 7).

If you are using a torrent client, I have my client (Vuze) move the files into an unsorted media folder. From that MCM Determines where to put them. If it detects that it is a movie it moves it to the movies folder and then pulls down all the metadata. If it is a tv show it determines what show and season then moves it to the correct folder (If it exists) then gets the metadata. If it is a new show I setup my folder structure like so I:\TV\SeriesName\Season# Then I use MCM to pull metadata for that show. Now from MCM you just need the episodes in the unsorted media folder and it will put them where they need to go.

IIRC Media Browser doesn't like things saved to the root of a drive.

He was asking how they got that way in the first place.

I don't know that there will be a way to automate fixing your double show folders, but it's not something that should take you too long to do manually.
